Turkey’s Kardemir and Isdemir up billet prices

In a bid to offset rising costs, Turkey’s Kardemir and Isdemir have increased their billet prices. The current strong demand in the market for finished products has made it possible for the price to be increased. The domestic price from Kardemir and Isdemir was raised to US$379 per ton. Some Turkish importers received quotations of $370 to 375 per ton CFR Istanbul. Kardemir has a capacity of 1 million tons and they have 3 blast furnaces. (Mar. 14)
