European FeSi market price rise
|
The European ferro silicon market price has increased by around €20/mt recently. The ferro silicon market has seen an upturn and this may have been influenced by the output reduction of Norwegian producers. Norwegian ferro silicon producer Fesil announced in September that it planned to close Rana Metall, a factory with an annual ferro silicon capacity of 100, 000 mt. Analysts predict that ferro silicon contract price in the first quarter of 2006 may rise to €650-680/mt. (Dec. 11)
