Japanese scrap quotation to Taiwan and South Korea down

Because of decreasing orders for Japanese scrap by South Korean and Taiwanese electric furnace steelmakers, the price of scrap to these 2 regions have fallen. The price of Japanese scrap has dropped from US$218 to 222/mt last month to the new quotation of around US$215 to 217/mt. Japan has also cut the quotation price to South Korean plants by about ¥300/mt. (Dec. 7)
