Japanese mills negotiate iron ore prices
|
Japanese mills have been negotiating with Australian iron ore manufacturers since mid November for new price levels. Chinese mills are also expected to negotiate prices from mid December. Analysts believe that Japan may accept the same price level or increasing price of iron ore for 2006 because they are expecting the price of coke to fall. Chinese and European mills will not accept a price hiked easily, they may need more talks to decide the price of iron ore for 2006. (Dec. 7)
